Editorial Policy

Editorial Policy

Editorial decisions comply with the highest standard of literary ethics based on scholarly merit, originality, relevance to scope, clarity, and analytical or methodological rigour. Decisions are not influenced by the author’s affiliation, nationality, gender, beliefs, or ability to pay publication fees.

Editorial Roles

  • Editor in Chief: overall editorial leadership, ethics oversight, and final decisions.
  • Associate Editor: manage submissions within their expertise and oversee peer review.
  • Editors
  • Advisory Editorial Board: supports policy direction, reviewer pool development, and quality assurance.
  • Editorial Office: coordinates screening, communication, and production workflows.

Desk Editing

The journal undertakes a first eye (desk) editing and manuscripts may be rejected instantly if they fall out of the scope of interest of the journal or do not meet basic scholarly quality, breaches ethical standard, shows excessive similarity to any other literary works are inadequately anonymised for double blind peer review, or fails submission requirements after notice.

Manuscript received outside the regime of an edition shall automatically be published in the next edition except if author(s) advise otherwise.

Editorial Decisions

Decisions include: accept, minor revision, major revision, reject. The Editor in Chief may make the final decision based on reviewer reports and editorial judgement.

Appeals and complaints

Authors may appeal decisions within 14 days by submitting a reasoned letter addressing specific concerns. Complaints about editorial conduct are handled confidentially by the Editor in Chief and, where appropriate, the journal’s oversight committee.

Peer Review Process

AIJBFD uses double blind peer review. Reviewers are selected for expertise, research track record, and absence of conflicts of interest. The journal may use both academic and practitioner reviewers where appropriate. AIJBFD aims to provide an initial editorial outcome within 10 to 21 days and a post review decision within 4 to 8 weeks, subject to reviewer availability and manuscript complexity.

Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential, provide objective and constructive feedback, declare conflicts of interest, and avoid using manuscript content for personal advantage. AIJBFD is committed to research integrity and takes misconduct allegations seriously.

Plagiarism and Similarity Index Policy

AIJBFD screens for plagiarism, including verbatim copying, paraphrased plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and redundant publication. Similarity results greater than 20% is unacceptable, which is an automatic rejection of the manuscript.

Submitted manuscripts must be original and not previously published in a peer reviewed journal. Manuscripts must not be under review elsewhere. Substantial overlap with prior publications must be disclosed and justified. Fabrication, falsification, selective reporting, and inappropriate manipulation of evidence are prohibited. The journal may request raw data, analysis outputs, or documentation.

Authorship and Co-authorship

Authorship should be limited to those who have made substantial such as academic and analytical contributions to the work and who approve the final version and agree to be accountable as authors.

The corresponding author confirms that all authors meet the authorship criteria that all authors approve final version as subjected to the journal.

Requests to add, remove, or reorder authors after submission require written justification and written consent from all authors to that effect. The journal may decline such request due to various reasons at the desertion of the Editorial Board.

Authors must ensure accuracy of analysis results, transparent reporting, appropriate citations, and compliance with ethical standards. The editorial board may require disclosure of funding sources and conflicts of interest must be disclosed.

Authors, reviewers, as well as editors are expected to declare conflicts of interest any. Where conflicts exist, alternative reviewers or editors will be assigned.

AIJBFD follows a fair process that includes preliminary assessment, author clarification, consultation with editors or advisers, and outcomes such as correction, retraction, expression of concern, or referral to relevant institutions. Contributors who do not meet authorship criteria would be acknowledged with their consent.
